The state Meta shows for a WhatsApp business number, such as connected, pending, flagged or restricted, which affects whether it can send.
Each business number carries a status in Meta's systems. Connected means it is working. Pending usually means setup or display-name review is not finished. Flagged means its quality has dropped and it may be restricted if nothing changes. Restricted means Meta has limited its sending for a period. More serious policy breaches can lead to the number being banned.
Status is often the first sign of trouble. A flagged number still sends, but it is a warning that customers are reacting badly to recent messages.
Check status before large sends and after any unusual campaign. If a number is flagged, pause marketing and review what was sent.
