How a WhatsApp link works
WhatsApp recognises links in the form wa.me followed by a full international number, with no plus sign, spaces or leading zero. When someone taps one, WhatsApp opens a chat with that number, on their phone or in WhatsApp Web.
Add a message and it is typed into the chat box for them, ready to send. That first message tells you where the customer came from, so a link in an ad can say "Hi, I saw your November offer" and you know which ad worked.

No. A link works for any number that has WhatsApp, including a personal account, the Business app or the Business API.
Do you store the number or message I type?
No. The link is built in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
Can I change the message later?
The message is part of the link, so a different message means a new link. Make a new one here whenever you need it.
