A WhatsApp message carrying an image, video, audio file, document or sticker rather than text alone.
A media message sends a file through WhatsApp: a photo, a short video, a voice note or audio file, a document such as a PDF, or a sticker. Media can be sent freely inside the customer service window, or as the header of an approved template outside it.
Media often does what text cannot. A photo of the exact spare part, an invoice as a PDF, or a short video showing how to set something up saves several messages of explanation.
Mind file sizes: WhatsApp sets limits per media type, and customers on mobile data appreciate small files. Use common formats such as JPEG, MP4 and PDF. When sending through an API, the media link must point directly at the file, not at a page that redirects.
