Passing a conversation from a chatbot to a person in the team inbox, with the chat history kept so the customer does not repeat themselves.
Human handover, also called intervention, is the moment a chatbot stops and a person takes over. It can be triggered by the customer ('Talk to someone'), by a rule (a complaint, a high-value order), or by the bot reaching the limit of what it can do.
Handover is what makes automation safe to use. Customers accept a bot more readily when they know a person is one tap away, and agents work faster when they can see everything the bot already collected.
Make the handover visible to both sides: tell the customer someone will reply and roughly when, and route the chat to the right team in the inbox. Outside working hours, say when someone will be back. In Marichi Talks, a Flow Builder step hands the conversation over to a person, and it appears in Live Chat with the full history.
