Automatic notifications a platform sends to your own system when something happens, such as a message arriving or being delivered.

A webhook is a web address in your own system that a platform calls whenever an event happens. Instead of your software repeatedly asking 'anything new?', the platform tells it straight away: a customer replied, a message was delivered, a message failed.

Webhooks are how WhatsApp messaging joins up with the rest of a business. An incoming reply can create a support ticket, a delivered receipt can update an order record, and a failed message can trigger an SMS instead.
